This Alabama Bookkeeper Employment Contract (the “Agreement”) is made and entered into as of [Date] by and between [Employer Name], with its principal place of business at [Employer Address] (“Employer”), and [Employee Name], residing at [Employee Address] (“Employee”).
Whereas, Employer desires to employ Employee as a Bookkeeper; and
Whereas, Employee desires to be employed by Employer as a Bookkeeper;
Now, therefore, in consideration of the mutual covenants contained herein, the parties agree as follows:
1. Employment
- Option A: Employer hereby employs Employee, and Employee hereby accepts employment with Employer, as a full-time Bookkeeper.

2. Position and Duties

- Employee’s duties shall include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Recording day-to-day financial transactions.
- Reconciling bank statements.
- Managing accounts payable and receivable.

- Administering expense reimbursements.
- Generating financial reports for management.
- Complying with internal accounting policies.

10. Compliance with Laws
Employee shall comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and accounting/banking industry regulations, including relevant Alabama statutes and Alabama Department of Revenue requirements.
11. Behavioral Expectations
- Employee shall maintain accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism in all bookkeeping duties.
- Employee shall escalate discrepancies, report suspected fraud or irregularities, and cooperate with audit processes.
- Falsification or manipulation of financial records is strictly prohibited.
- Employee shall comply with internal controls.
12. Termination
Employment is at-will under Alabama law, unless otherwise stated in writing.

Employer may request background checks and credit history checks. Employee may be required to obtain bonding or fidelity insurance coverage.
18. Licenses/Certifications
Employee shall notify Employer of any licenses/certifications or legal obligations relevant to their work. Employee shall participate in continuing education or accounting/compliance training if required.
19. Conflicts of Interest
Employee shall disclose any potential conflicts of interest, including relationships with vendors or clients.
20. Data Security
Employee shall adhere to secure use of bookkeeping software, company systems, and protection from cyber threats or unauthorized data access, in accordance with Alabama’s data breach notification statute.
21. Company Policies
Employee shall adhere to all company policies, handbooks, and accounting protocols as referenced in [Name/Attachment].
22. Amendments
Any updates to this Agreement must be made in writing with mutual consent.
23. Severability
