7. Data Security and Privacy

8. Independent Contractor Status
The Contractor is an independent contractor and not an employee of the Client. This Agreement does not create an employer-employee relationship, partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship between the parties. The Contractor is responsible for their own insurance (including professional liability and cyber liability), taxes, and legal compliance and must meet Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training's definition of independent contractor status and comply with DLT’s "independent contractor test” for state law.
9. Non-Solicitation and Non-Competition
Option A: Non-Solicitation: During the term of this Agreement and for a period of [Number] months thereafter, the Contractor shall not solicit any employees or clients of the Client.
